James M. Lupton

    James M. LuptonMr. Lupton concentrates his practice in two areas: State and Federal Criminal Defense, and Civil Litigation.
    Mr. Lupton was born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1965 but grew up in New Bern, North Carolina. He received his B.S. from Wake Forest University in 1987 and received his J.D. from the University of North Carolina in 1992. He was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1992, to the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of North Carolina in 1998, and admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court in 2001. Mr. Lupton is a member of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, Carteret County and North Carolina Bar Associations and the North Carolina State Bar. Mr. Lupton has served as past president of the IIIB Judicial District Bar. Mr. Lupton is also a member of the Eastern North Carolina Inn of Court. Before joining the firm of Wheatly, Wheatly, Nobles & Weeks, P.A. in September of 1997, Mr. Lupton served as an Assistant District Attorney for Carteret, Craven and Pamlico Counties after graduating from law school in 1992.
    Mr. Lupton is married and has one son. He makes his home in Morehead City, North Carolina.
